I have driven the car over 9000 miles looking just like that, only without that cover for the coil packs. That was just a piece of metal that I had lying around I thought it might look nice, so I trimmed it a bit, placed it on there and took a picture. The look of the engine bay is a bit of form following function. I relocated all of the hydraulics under the dash to keep them away from the heat of the turbo. I’m using a NASCAR style reverse mount pedal assembly from Tilton, with three master cylinders, one for clutch, and one each for the front and rear brakes, this gives F/R bias adjustability. Many of the items you are used to seeing are not relocated, but not needed with this motor. The access and servicability are great, but it’s been truely trouble free now for over 9000 miles. I’ve added an oil cooler since that picture was taken, but that’s the only change. Oh yeah, the steering is a Toyota MR2 rack and pinion installed in order to maintain the stock bottom-mount turbo position. I made a 3D model in Solidworks to aid in positioning the rack to have proper ackerman and no bump steer. It all worked out well. The lack of bling is no accident, it was a lot of work to make it all look so “normal.”
